OUR ORIGIN
Our brothers in the Bahamas come together on a regular basis for fellowship, breaking bread together and searching out, planning for, and completing various community projects. They call themselves Men of Faith. They are role models for us and to many others. We have been working with them since 2005 and have all come together to complete a community center for a church and a mission house as a respite for United Servants Abroad missionaries.
Men of Faith Florida was founded by Dwight Selby and Rick Filippi in 2009 inspired by the courageous battle fought by their friend Dieter Zimmerman as he dealt with the ravages of terminal cancer. His love for the Lord encouraged them to organize the Daytona Beach Chapter of Men of Faith which evolved into Men of Faith Florida.
WHO ARE WE?
Men of Faith is a group of Christian men devoted to providing community services at home and abroad while ministering the gospel to all individuals God places in our path. “For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20). Our goal is to unite Christian men in the community by breaking through the man made barriers of denomination and race. “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1). By breaking down these barriers, the resources of numerous churches are combined to strengthen and unify the Body of Christ. We will provide an environment where men can be changed through the Word of God and by being the hands and feet of Christ on earth. We will provide opportunities for men to get together for fellowship, share information about their ministries and events at their church, and to participate in frequent service projects. We are determined to go DO!
